I am Vaikam Padma Krishnan, a professional carnatic classical violinist.
I recieved my initial Carnatic Violin training from Prof. M. Subramania Sharma and then Got the Diploma and Post Diploma in Carnatic Classical Violin from Sri Swathy Thirunal College of Music, Trivandrum. I completed my higher studies from violin maestro Padmasree Kalaimamani SangeethaKalanidhi Kumari. A. Kanyakumari.
* Been giving violin performances as solo and accompaniment since 1993.
* Won All India Radio National Level Competition in 1993.
* “A” grade artist of All India Radio.
* Got the Lalgudi Gopala Iyer Award for the Best Accompaniment Artist (Violin) in 1997.
* Released two carnatic violin solo concert albums “Su Swaranjali” in 2005 and 2009.
* Performed at various sabhas in Chennai .
* Visited Australia, South Africa, USA and various Middle Eastern countries for both
performances and classes on carnatic vocal & violin.
* Senior research fellow at Ministry of Culture , Govt. Of India - 2020 Feb 08
As a teacher , I have many students both in India and abroad. I provided initiations to many students in violin , vocal and other instruments who have gone on to receive
scholarships from Govt. of India (CCRT) and gradation from All India Radio since 2000.
My aim is to help the sincere and passionate students of Carnatic classical music irrespective of their age providing them the unique opportunity to learn Carnatic Music traditionally , from any where in the world, at their convenience.
Students at Beginner , Intermediate and Advanced levels can join for one - to - one classes.
