                 Panchapadi

The Panchapadi in Sampradāya Bhajan refers to a group of five devotional songs traditionally sung together as part of the structured bhajan system established by Sri Marudanallur Sadguru Svamigal and the Nama Siddhanta tradition. These five songs are usually rendered in a specific sequence, maintaining continuity in raga, tala, and devotional mood, and serve as a meditative centerpiece within the bhajan session.
Typically, the Panchapadi includes compositions that praise Lord Rama, Krishna, or Narayana, emphasizing surrender, divine love, and remembrance of God’s names. Mainly  compositions of Bhadrachala Ramadasar, Purandaradasar,Sadasivabrahmendra,Gopalakrishnabharati, and Saint Tyagaraja.
Musically, they are simple yet powerful, encouraging congregational participation while preserving classical melodic structure. The Panchapadi thus plays a key role in sustaining the spiritual flow and traditional discipline of Sampradaya Bhajan.
